Edoardo Scotti (born May 9, 2000 in Lodi ) is an Italian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Edoardo Scotti gained his first international experience in 2016 when he was eliminated from the first round of the European Youth Championships in Tbilisi with 49.33 seconds and was used in the Italian sprint relay (1000 meters) in the preliminary run and also reached the final there, with which he contributed to winning the gold medal. The following year he took part in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , where he won in 3: 08.68 minutes. The following year he finished fourth in the individual competition at the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 46.20 seconds and won the relay with a new U20 European record of 3: 04.05 minutes. Shortly before he won the relay at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo in 3: 05.07 min. Therefore he received a starting place in the relay for the European Championships in Berlin , where he finished sixth in 3: 02.34 min. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama he won the B final in 3: 02.87 min and then won the gold medal over 400 meters in 45.85 s at the U20 European Championships in Borås and was with the relay in 3: 08.76 min fourth. At the World Championships in Doha at the end of September, he finished sixth in the final with the men's relay in 3: 02.78 minutes . He also started in the mixed 4 x 400 meter relay, but did not reach the final with 3: 16.52 min .
