Edson José Oriolo dos Santos

Edson José Oriolo dos Santos (born September 18, 1964 in Itajubá , Minas Gerais , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Leopoldina .

Life

Edson José Oriolo dos Santos received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Pouso Alegre on May 5, 1990 .

On 15 April 2015 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Segia and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Belo Horizonte . The Archbishop of Diamantina , João Bosco Oliver de Faria , donated him episcopal ordination on July 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Belo Horizonte, Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo , and the Archbishop of Pouso Alegre, José Luiz Majella Delgado CSsR .

On October 30, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Leopoldina. The inauguration took place on January 25 of the following year.
