João Bosco Oliver de Faria

João Bosco Oliver de Faria (born October 30, 1939 in São João del Rei ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Diamantina .

Life

He was ordained a priest on July 3, 1968 and was initially pastor in Pouso Alegre .

August 5, 1987 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To auxiliary bishop in Pouso Alegre and titular bishop of Feradi Maius . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Pouso Alegre, José d'Angelo Neto , on October 12 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Uberaba , Benedito de Ulhôa Vieira , and the former Bishop of Assis , José Lázaro Neves CM .

On January 8, 1992, he was appointed Bishop of Patos de Minas . The inauguration took place on February 22nd of the same year. On May 30, 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . as successor to Paulo Lopes de Faria as Archbishop of Diamantina .

On March 9, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
