Eduard Allport Ireland (* before 1830 in England ; † May 13, 1896 in Düsseldorf ) was an English landscape painter who worked in Düsseldorf.

Born in England, Ireland, attracted by the Düsseldorf School of Painting , settled in Düsseldorf around 1850. In the mid-1870s he lived with his wife and son Joseph (* 1875) on Goltsteinstraße 22. In 1854 he became a member of the artists' association Malkasten , to which almost all Düsseldorf painters belonged. At the end of the 1870s, Karl Rudolf Sohn and his family became his direct neighbors at 23 Goltsteinstrasse.

Ireland's genre was landscape painting . He also devoted himself to hunting and animal painting : the “German Hunting Painters Album” from 1881, which was signed with the pseudonym “ Hegewald , practical hunter”, contained drawings by the “International Hunting Exhibition in Bad Cleve ” at the opening then living hunting painter in Germany. All were at the same time illustrators of the hunting newspaper Der Weidmann, Blätter für Häger und Jagdfreunde: Erste Illustrirte Deutsche Jagdzeitung . Each of these 26 artists was represented in Hegewald's album with an original drawing, which he had supplied for the “Waidmann”, with depictions, mainly pictures of wild animals, such as Ludwig Beckmann , Carl Friedrich Deiker , Hugo Engl and Conrad Ermisch , Richard Friese , Otto Grashey, Ernst Henseler , Hugo Kauffmann , Christian Kröner , Guido von Maffei, Franz von Pausinger , Albert Richter , Wilhelm Simmler , Friedrich Specht , Heinrich Sperling , Ernst-Hugo von Stenglin, Arthur Thiele and Otto Vollrath.

He signed his pictures with Eduard A. Ireland .
