Eduard Jakobs

Eduard Jakobs (born August 27, 1920 in Völklingen ; † September 29, 2012 ) was a German administrative lawyer and politician ( CDU ). From 1970 to 1974 he was a member of the Saarland State Parliament and from 1974 to 1985 President of the Saarland Court of Audit .

Life

After completing the Reich Labor Service and participating in the Second World War , Jakobs studied law, political science and economics at the universities in Munich and Freiburg . In 1949 he passed the first state examination and in 1952 the second state examination. He was then initially a partner and from 1956 to 1974 chairman of the supervisory board of the non-profit building and settlement company in Dillingen (GBS).

Jakobs joined the CDU and initially worked in local politics . From October 16, 1956 to February 14, 1974 he was honorary mayor of the city of Dillingen / Saar . During his term of office, the construction of the town hall , the outdoor pool and the indoor pool, the development of the new building area "Pachtener Heide", the incorporation of Diefflens in 1969 and the establishment of the Stadtwerke Dillingen / Saar GmbH. As mayor, he was a member of the board of directors of the Kreissparkasse Saarlouis from 1965 to 1973 .

In the state elections in 1970 , Jakobs was elected to the Saarland state parliament as a direct candidate for the CDU via the Saarlouis constituency. He was a member of parliament until January 14, 1974, when he was appointed President of the Saarland Audit Office and resigned from his Landtag mandate. For him moved Günter Diwo by the parliament. Jakobs held the post of President of the Court of Auditors until he retired on August 31, 1985. He was also a councilor for the city of Dillingen from 1979 to 1984.

Eduard Jakobs was married and had three children.
