Eduard Schuster (architect)

Eduard Schuster (born April 22, 1831 in Hanover ; † November 2, 1904 there ) was a German architect and author .

Life

Eduard was born in Herrenhausen as the son of the architect Georg Heinrich Schuster . In addition to his studies at the Polytechnic School in Hanover from 1848 to 1855 , he stayed in Berlin, Holland and France during this time.

From 1855 he worked in the service of the Hanoverian state and was active in Stade and Verden . From 1862 he carried out state buildings in Hanover, including the royal cell prison on the stone gate field behind the main train station, which was still undeveloped at the time . In 1877 Schuster was appointed director building officer, and in 1891 he was appointed secret building officer.

After Eduard Schuster became chairman of the Provincial Garden Association in 1892 , he took over the supervision of the manor houses from 1900 . In 1905 he wrote an overview of the building activities in Hanover during the Baroque period , which is still used for studies today.

Eduard Schuster's grave can be found in the Herrenhausen cemetery .
