Eduardo Paz (born December 12, 1981 in Spain ) is a former Spanish ice hockey player who was under contract for the majority of his career at Majadahonda HC in the Spanish Super League .

Career

Eduardo Paz began his career as a hockey player with Majadahonda HC , for which he made his debut in the Spanish Super League in the 1998/99 season . With his team, the defender reached the semi-finals of the Spanish championship the following year. In addition, Paz retired with Majadahonda in the 2001/02 season only in the cup semi-finals. Since his club temporarily stopped playing in the summer of 2002, Paz moved to its league rivals CH Madrid , with whom he reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey in the following four years, except for the 2003/04 season . In addition, Paz reached the semi-finals of the Superliga again with Madrid in the 2002/03 season.

After CH Madrid stopped playing in 2006, Paz returned to his former club Majadahonda, which had resumed playing in 2004 after a two-year break. In 2007 and 2008 he failed with his team in the quarter-finals of the championship and the cup. He played in Majadahonda until 2013. After spending the 2014/15 season with the South China Sharks in the Hong Kong Ice Hockey League , he ended his career.

International

For Spain , Paz took part in the junior division in the U18-D European Championships in 1997 and 1998 and the U18 World Championship in Europe Division 2 as well as in the U20-D World Championships in 1998 , 1999 and 2000 and the U20 World Championship in Division III in 2001 .

In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the Division II World Championships in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , when he was voted best defender of the tournament, in 2012 and 2013, and at the Division I World Cup in 2011 . He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010 and in Sochi in 2014 .
