Eduardo Porfirio Patiño Leal
Eduardo Porfirio Patiño Leal (born November 22, 1949 in Monterrey ) is a Mexican clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Córdoba .
Life
Eduardo Porfirio Patiño Leal was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Monterrey on May 28, 1977 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 15, 2000 as the first bishop of the diocese of Cordoba , which was established on the same date . He was ordained episcopate on June 14th of the same year by the Archbishop of Monterrey, Cardinal Adolfo Antonio Suárez Rivera ; Co- consecrators were Sergio Obeso Rivera , Archbishop of Jalapa , and Leonardo Sandri , Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico .
Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on July 4, 2020.
