Edward J. Philbin

Edward James Philbin (born August 7, 1932 in New York City ; died January 12, 2014 in Denver , Colorado ) was an American military and government official.

Life

Edward J. Philbin attended Immaculata High School . From September 1952 to June 1957 Edward J. Philbin studied at San Diego State College and earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He then worked at General Dynamics - Convair . From November 1957 to December 1959 he did his active military service as a bomber navigator in the US Air Force . Philbin left the Air Force as a lieutenant and worked again at General Dynamics-Corsair or -Astronautics until June 1966 and also studied from 1959 to 1962 at the University of California and then until June 1965 at the University of San Diego Law School and achieved one Juris Doctor with Summa Cum Laude .

From June 1966 to June 1970 he was a partner in the law firm Hecsh, Hebner & Philbin. In addition, he worked from September 1969 to June 1970 as an associate professor at the University of San Diego Law School., Then as a lecturer until December 1972. From August 1973 to June 1985 he was an associate professor at this faculty. In the period from June 1977 to June 1979 he was released for military service and from June 1981 for government service.

In addition to his teaching activities, he was still active in the military in the reserve. Until November 1964 he was part of the Air Force Reserve as a navigator. He then served in the Air Force Intelligence until July 1985 and was promoted to the rank of Colonel . During this time he was a student from August 1977 to June 1978 and then until August 1979 lecturer in international law at Air War College . In July 1985 he moved to the Air National Guard and was Brigadier General deputy commanding general for the area of ​​the District of Columbia until February 1988 . He then became a major general in command of the New Jersey Air National Guard until 1992 .

From June 1981 to June 1984 he was in charge of all armed forces reserves in the United States .
