Eero Elo (born April 26, 1990 in Rauma ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Lukko Rauma in the Liiga since 2019 .

Career

Eero Elo began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Lukko Rauma , for whose professional team he made his debut in the SM-liiga in the season 2008/09 when he came to three appearances in the relegation. In the following season , the winger was able to increase to eleven points scorer, including eight goals, in 22 games. Parallel to playing with Lukko, he was on loan from 2008 to 2010 for the Finnish U20 national team in the Mestis of the Finnish second division, on the ice and in the 2009/10 season for the second division KooKoo . For KooKoo he scored seven goals in ten games and gave five assists.

In the KHL Junior Draft 2010 Elo was selected in the seventh round as the 164th player from HK Budiwelnik Kiev. Two years earlier, he had already been selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2008 in the fifth round as a total of 145th player by the Minnesota Wild , but was not subsequently signed. In the 2010/11 season , the junior international was able to improve again and he scored 15 scorer points in 33 SM-liiga appearances for Lukko Rauma, including seven goals.

In December 2012 Eero Elo moved to Ässät Pori within the SM-liiga and won the Finnish championship title with his new team at the end of the season .

From September 2016 Elo was under contract with the SCL Tigers in the National League A and played for the Tigers until the end of the 2018/19 season. He then signed a two-year contract with his hometown club Lukko.

International

For Finland , Elo took part in the 2010 U20 World Youth Championship . During the tournament he scored two goals in six games and gave one assist.
