Egid von Kobell
Egid, also Aegid or Aegid Kobell, from 1809 Ritter von Kobell (born April 7, 1772 in Mannheim , † June 17, 1847 in Munich ), was a member of the Bavarian State Council .
His parents were the painter and gallery director Ferdinand Kobell (1740–1799) from Mannheim and the daughter of the councilor Maria Anna Lederer (1744–1820) from Düsseldorf . One of his brothers was the painter Wilhelm von Kobell (1766-1853). In 1793 he moved with him from Mannheim to Munich.
Egid was secretary of the Bavarian government for 35 years, as well as supervisor of the Tegernsee estate , which King Max Joseph acquired in 1817 . In 1809 he became a knight , in 1817 Commander of the Order of Civil Merit , in 1834 a member of the Regency of Greece , in 1835 an envoy to Athens , in 1836 a real Councilor of State. He succeeded in replacing Nauplion as the capital of Greece with Athens, which gave him honorary citizenship. Wilhelm's son Sebastian von Kobell (1801–1875), who held it for 40 years, succeeded him in the office of Secretary General of the State Council. The other two Egids brothers, Innozenz (1765-1818) and Franz (1779-1850), were chief appeals judge and general secretary of the State Ministry of the Interior .
Egid von Kobell had two daughters with his wife, the lottery administrator's daughter Antonie von Geyser (1779–1816): Sophie (1797–1846) married Friedrich von Schlichtegroll's son Antonin (1793–1873), Karoline (1801–1846) the mineralogist and dialect poet Franz von Kobell (1803–1882), son of her uncle of the same name. The daughter of the latter couple was the writer Luise von Kobell married von Eisenhart (1827–1901).
