The badge of honor for special achievements in hunting by the NVA was a non-governmental award of the National People's Army of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was introduced on March 24, 1977 by the Deputy Minister and Head of the Rear Services with order number 7/77.

Award terms

The badge of honor was to all members of the hunting party of the NVA are awarded who have contributed through their work or activities important to the development of hunting, and also for excellent results on hunting the economic field as well as achievements in breeding of hunting dogs, as falconers or Frettierer purchased had.

Appearance and wearing style

The badge of honor is shield-shaped, 20 mm high and wide and is made of non-ferrous metal . In its lower tapering part it shows a dark brown red deer antler on a gold-colored background. The middle of the needle shows two steeply crossed green oak leaves, in the middle of which a black acorn is pointing straight up. Above it is the two-line inscription: JAGDGESELLSCHAFT / DER NVA . Then the entire front of the needle was coated with polyester resin. The back shows a horizontally soldered needle with a counter-hook. The badge of honor could not be worn with the uniform of the NVA, but with any other type of suit.
