Ring of Honor of the City of Mannheim
The main ring of the city of Mannheim is after the honorary citizenship of the second highest award of the city of Mannheim .
It was donated by the city in 1966 on the occasion of the 1,200th anniversary of Mannheim's first mention in the Lorsch Codex . The ring is awarded to personalities who have made a special contribution to the city and are worthy of the award. The number of living ring bearers should not exceed seven. The honor must be decided by at least two thirds of the community council members.
The ring of honor, which is awarded by the Lord Mayor , is made of 18-carat gold and shows the Mannheim coat of arms with the inscription "The City of Mannheim for Special Merits". The name of the recipient and the date of the award are engraved on the inside of the ring.
