The Eichenbach is an orographic left tributary of the Ahr in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany, about seven kilometers long .

The oak stream also bears the name Hirzenflosseifen . The information on which sections are called Eichenbach and which Hirzenflosseifen are different in the information systems of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia.

Course and catchment area

The Eichenbach rises in the Lommersdorfer Wald northeast of the district Lommersdorf of the municipality Blankenheim at an altitude of approx. 528  m above sea level. NHN . From here the stream flows northeast and after less than a kilometer it reaches the state border of Rhineland-Palatinate. It swings to the east and continues its course along the national border. At the height of Aremberg it changes its course again to the northeast, flows below the Aremberg past to Eichenbach . From here the Eichenbach its valley tells the county road 5 and opens between Antweiler and Fuchshofen to about 273  m altitude in the coming there from the West Rhine influx Ahr .

On its seven-kilometer path, the stream overcomes a height difference of 255 meters, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 37 ‰. The 7.1 km² catchment area drains via the Ahr and Rhine to the North Sea .
