A job for Superman (original title: The New Adventures of Superman ) is an American animated Superman - television series made by Filmation produced and from 1966 to 1970 on CBS aired. A total of 68 episodes appeared with short films about Superboy or other superheroes , which is why the second season was titled The Superman / Aquaman Hour of Adventure and the third season was titled The Batman / Superman Hour .
history
The series was first broadcast in 1966 with Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott . It is one of the first Superman cartoon adaptations after the Superman shorts from the 1940s . The series became so popular in a short time that three more seasons followed. Due to the many scenes in which Superman beats his enemies with his fists, the conservative organization Action for Children's Television protested against the broadcast. As a result, the series was discontinued in 1970. In 1973, Superman starred in the less violent show Super Friends .
