Superman & Lois is a planned American science fiction television series based on the same figures, Superman and Lois Lane , from DC Comics based. The series will appear in 2020 as part of the Arrowverse and as an offshoot of the Supergirl series.

On October 28, 2019, it was announced that a new TV series from the Arrowverse about the character Superman is in production under the title Superman & Lois . The series, like most of the other Arrowverse series, is produced for the television channel The CW . This makes Superman & Lois the second series after Smallville to be produced for The CW with Superman in the lead role. In addition, Superman & Lois is a spin-off of the Supergirl series , from which Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch return as Clark Kent aka Superman and his girlfriend Lois Lane. The life of the couple Clark Kent and Lois Lane as heroes, reporters and parents is told. Her sons will be embodied by Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin , as announced on February 5, 2020.

On January 14, 2020, The CW officially announced that it had ordered the series from Berlanti Productions . Todd Helbing , who is executive producer with Greg Berlanti , Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns, is responsible for the script . Initially it was planned that a pilot episode would be filmed before the full series order was placed. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the filming of the pilot episode was postponed and a full season was ordered. In addition to the cast from the Arrowverse, it was announced in early April 2020 that Emmanuelle Chriqui would play Lana Lang . A few days later it was confirmed that Erik Valdez played Lang's husband.

Already at the announcement of the series, Linda Maleh of Forbes magazine recognizes that with Superman & Lois after The Flash, the first TV series in the Arrowverse is being created, which is about one of the more popular DC heroes. She praises the fact that the other series are a change from the classic adaptations of Superman and Batman , about which everyone already knows the stories.
