occupation

A circus and a hallelujah (original title: I vendicatori dell'Ave Maria ) is a spaghetti western comedy by Bitto Albertini , the German-language premiere of which took place on private television on September 20, 2005.

action

At the time of the California gold rush, the people of the Circus 'Splendor' witness an attack in the town of Goldfield that apparently some Mexicans are carrying out. In fact, it is Yankees in disguise that the mighty Parker has hired, whose son is left injured and imprisoned. Parker happily takes this as an opportunity to get the co-owner of his own gold mine, Sheriff Wilson, out of the way. The acrobats of the circus are now helping Katie, the sheriff's daughter, since the governor cannot contribute anything to shed light on the proceedings, to cope with the harassment of Parker, who has meanwhile been installed as mayor. Together with a real Mexican rebel, Pedro Serrano, they can help Katie put the bad guys in their place.

criticism

It is a "spaghetti western in an atmosphere that takes getting used to, which garnishes the usual shootings with artistic interludes", writes the lexicon of international films . In addition to the artistic attractions, “the film, with its strong comedic accent, has very little to offer,” says Christian Keßler .

Remarks

Actor Attilio Dottesio was, as in many films of the 1970s, also active as production manager of the plant.

The score consists of various pieces written for other films.
