An Unequal Couple is a German television film by Peter Keglevic from 1988 , based on the novel Der Schöne Mann by Dieter Wellershoff and produced on behalf of Ziegler Film for Das Erste . Judy Winter and Diego Wallraff can be seen as an unequal couple in the leading roles.

Vera, who is in her mid-fifties, is a passionate fashion designer. She is married to an attractive man in his early thirties who is financially dependent on her. But the man cheats on his Vera and prefers to do too little than too much of the sensitive work. At some point the patient Vera breaks the patience and the relationship breaks.

At the time, Der Spiegel wrote in issue 4/1988: “Dieter Wellershoff, author, dived into the Düsseldorf salons especially for this fashion game to tell his story of the aging designer Vera, who clasped a young man like a spider in a web, in proper style to implement. Judy Winter, wholooks like Elisabeth Flickenschildt with her combed red hair , and her young galan have some difficulties in alluding to the many clichés (fashion world equals rich equals) and the paper dialogues. "
