Eischott is a district of the municipality of Rüsten in the district of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony .

geography

Eischott is located in the west of the municipality of Rüsten, in the immediate vicinity of the city of Wolfsburg . Eischott has 811 inhabitants (as of December 2019). In 1910 the population was still 221. In the north-east and west there are new building areas. The place lies in the historical landscape of the Vorsfelder Werder , an Ice Age Geestrücke . The place is in the middle of the elevation.

Wolfsburg-Velstove is two kilometers west, Hoitlingen three kilometers northwest and Brechtorf two kilometers east.

history

Eischott was first mentioned in 1324 as Eyzcot . The original village shape was that of a Wendish round . According to a settlement register around 1850, there were twelve farms at that time. Until the 19th century, the place was directly on the Wipperteich . The former 200-hectare body of water that had been used for fish farming was drained in 1841.

The incorporation of Eischotts to Ränen took place on July 1, 1972 under the Wolfsburg Act . At the same time, Eischott moved from the Helmstedt district to the Gifhorn district. From then on, Ränen mit Eischott belonged to the Samtgemeinde Rühren , which in 1974 became part of the Samtgemeinde Brome .

Religions

There is an Evangelical Lutheran community room in Eischott. He belongs to the parish Brechtorf-Eischott of the Provosty Vorsfelde . The building was built in 1958 as a cold house and after several years of vacancy it was converted into a community room in 2004. The Catholic residents of Eischott belong to the parish of St. Michael in the Wolfsburg district of Vorsfelde .

The best-known egg gravel is Stefanie Gottschlich , who was active in the German women's national soccer team for several years . She played for the Bundesliga clubs WSV Wendschott and VfL Wolfsburg . Her athletic career began in the youth team of SV Eischott. After injuries, she had to end her career in 2006 at the age of 29.
