Railway Act of March 3, 1971

The Danish Railways Act of March 3, 1971 ( Danish LOV nr 73 af 03/03/1971 - Lov om indskrænkning af drift på og eventuel senere nedlæggelse af visse statsbanestrækninger og færgefarten Glyngøre – Nykøbing Mors ) contains operational restrictions and the possibility to shut down certain state railway lines and the ferry line Glyngøre - Nykøbing Mors .

The Danish Folketing decided the following in the law:

  1. The Ministry of Public Works is authorized to cease operation of the state railway lines Viborg - Herning , Laurbjerg - Silkeborg , Funder - Brande and Brande - Grindsted and to shut down these lines partially or completely in the future.
  2. The Ministry of Public Works is empowered to limit the operation of the state railway lines Slagelse - Næstved , Slagelse - Værslev , Randers - Ryomgård , Grindsted - Bramming , Tønder - Tinglev , Roedekro - Aabenraa and Skive - Glyngøre to freight traffic and later these lines in whole or in partially shut down.
  3. The Ministry of Public Works is authorized to restrict the operation of the national railway line Herning - Skjern and to shut it down in whole or in part at a later date .
  4. The Ministry of Public Works is authorized to completely stop passenger traffic on the ferry service operated by the State Railways between Glyngøre and Nykøbing and later the ferry service on this route.

The law was passed on March 3, 1971 by King Frederik IX. signed and published March 19, 1971.
