Ice cold guys on hot stoves (original title: Uomini si nasce poliziotti si muore ) is an Italian police film from 1976 directed by Ruggero Deodato . The German-language premiere took place on September 3, 1976.

action

Antonio and Alfredo are members of a special motorcycle unit of the police, of whose existence hardly anyone knows: They do not arrest the criminals they discover, but kill them. Your boss usually leaves it at admonitions. In particular, they dedicate themselves to the search for Roberto Pasquini, the owner of several gambling dens, a cunning crook who escaped arrest on the advice of corrupt police officers. After killing several members of Pasquini's thugs, they can track him down in his hiding place. Your boss intervenes in good time so that the wanted person survives his arrest.

criticism

“Technically clean and extremely brutal entertainment”, which could also be called “a kind of intellectual fascism”, was what Karsten Thurau saw in his overview of the genre “Terror is directing”. MG calls the film fast-paced and praises the actors, while the lexicon of international films calls it a "little squeamish crime film". Cinema.de describes it as "a clever caricature of the genre's often comic orgies of violence"

Remarks

The film songs Won't Take Too Long and Maggie can be heard, interpreted by lead actor Ray Lovelock and released on single (Idea ID 702).

The German-language cinema and video version was significantly shortened.
