European Figure Skating Championships 1947
The 39th European Figure Skating Championships took place from January 31 to February 2, 1947 in Davos , Switzerland . Athletes from Germany and Austria were not allowed to participate for political reasons. It was a tough blow, especially for Austrian figure skating, as Eva Pawlik and Edi Rada would have had great chances for a medal. Rada, who was already in Davos (where he won the Academic Winter Sports Games around January 25th), and Pawlik wanted to be there anyway to see the world class at work.
