Elisabeth Ried
Elisabeth Ried (born October 23, 1915 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † August 5, 2001 in Berlin ) was a German actress and voice actress .
life and career
Elisabeth Ried was born as the daughter of a classical philologist in Freiburg im Breisgau. She had initially played theater with Ernst Schröder and Boleslaw Barlog in Berlin (including in the stands ) before she devoted herself increasingly to dubbing from 1949.
This year she spoke u. a. Alida Valli in the first version of The Third Man . The German original soundtrack of this film was edited by Radio Bremen as a radio play shortly afterwards by shortening it and inserting a narrative part .
Ried's best-known synchronized roles include the ice-cold Phyllis Dietrichson in the Billy Wilder classic Woman Without a Conscience , which was played by Barbara Stanwyck . Stanwyck also loaned her in The Cardsharp , The Possessed Farm , You Live Another 105 Minutes , Gambling Fever and, finally, her voice in the television series Big Valley and The Denver Clan . She also spoke Maureen O'Hara ( Against All Flags ; The Flame of Arabia ), Susan Hayward ( Enmity ), Katy Jurado ( 12 noon ) and Mary Astor ( The Hawk's Trail ).
Only once did Ried have the opportunity to take part in a movie: In 1937 she was seen alongside Grethe Weiser in My Friend Barbara .
In 1961 Ried performed at the Hanover State Theater .
