Elite Beat Agents is a music game for the Nintendo DS portable game console developed by iNiS and distributed by Nintendo . Elite Beat Agents is a version of Osu adapted for the western market ! Tatakae! Ōendan ( 押 忍! 闘 え! 応 援 団 , Eng. "Hey! Fight! Cheerleaders"). Instead of Japanese songs, well-known English songs are included.

Gameplay

In Elite Beat Agents , the player's task is to touch a point in the middle of a closing circle with the stylus at the exact moment when the circle has shrunk to the size of the point (hit markers) . In the background you can hear one of 16 songs from rock and pop, whereby the right moment to touch a point is always exactly in time. In addition, after touching the point, you sometimes have to follow it for a while on the screen (phrase markers) or turn a round disc displayed on the touchscreen as quickly as possible (spin markers) .

action

The player embodies agents whom he drives to dance by performing well in the areas mentioned above. On a kind of world map you first have to select one of 16 missions, then a comic-style plot is displayed on the upper screen of the Nintendo DS, which can be thematically very different depending on the level. All stories usually revolve around a special character who has a problem, for example is stranded on an island or has lost his entire fortune and therefore calls the agents for help.

Success depends on the level of the "Elite-O-Meter", a horizontal display that is divided into two halves. The plot is linear, but can be changed slightly in the individual parts of the level, depending on whether the "Elite-O-Mter" is in the upper or lower half. Each level has an exit to the good and bad end, which is determined by the status of the "Elite-O-Meter" at the end of the level. If the "Elite-O-Meter" drops to zero, the mission is deemed to have failed.
