The 2004 season was the premiere season of the Elite Women's Hockey League , a women's ice hockey league . In the first year of its existence, eight teams from Austria , Italy , Hungary and Slovenia took part between September 18 and December 19, 2004 . The first champion of the league was the Austrian record champions EHV Sabers Vienna .

mode

The eight participants played the places in a double round in the league system , so that each team played 14 games. The team with the most points won the title in the end. For a win - even after extra time - a team received two points. The losing team received no points after regular time, but one point if they lost after extra time.
