The 2017/18 season was the 14th season of the Elite Women's Hockey League , a supranational women's ice hockey league . Between September 2017 and March 2018 nine teams from Austria , Italy , Hungary , Slovenia , Slovakia , Denmark and Kazakhstan took part. For the first time a Danish team was at the start, the Hvidovre IK . The Kazakh and Danish teams played their home games in the venues of the other clubs involved. The matches between Hvidovre IK and Aisulu Almaty took place in Copenhagen . EHV Sabers Vienna were again champions of the EWHL .

mode

In the basic round, a simple round-trip round is played from September 2017 to February 2018. The best 4 teams are qualified for the final tournament. The first-placed team from the regular season against the fourth-placed team. Second against third place. The 2 winners play for the title EWHL champion . Bronze is played between the two losers.

For a victory a team with a win by getting three points, sudden victory overtime mentioned extension or after the shootout two points. The losing team receives no points after regular time, but one point if they lose after extra time or penalty shootout.
