The 2010/11 season was the seventh season of the Elite Women's Hockey League , a women's ice hockey league . In the seventh year of its existence, a total of eight teams from Austria , Slovenia , Germany , Slovakia and the Netherlands will take part between September 11, 2010 and February 27, 2011 . The seventh champion of the league was EHV Sabers Vienna , which won the title for the second time since 2004 .
The Vienna Flyers returned to the league field and with the MHK Martin a second Slovak team was added. In addition, the Dutch national ice hockey team played in the league, some of which played their home games with their opponents. It was the first participation of a team from the Netherlands. A team from Italy did not take part in the competition.
mode
The eight participants played the places in a double round in the league system , so that each team played 14 games. The four teams with the most points qualified for the first ever final tournament at the end of the main round. For a win, one team was awarded three points for a win after the sudden victory overtime mentioned extension or after the shootout two points. The losing team received no points after regular time, but one point if they lost after extra time or penalty shootout.
In the final tournament, the four remaining participants in the knockout system played the champions of the league.

Final tournament
The so-called Final Four took place on February 26th and 27th, 2011 in Amstetten, Austria, in the Amstetten ice rink with a capacity of 2,000 .
