The 2013/14 season was the tenth season of the Elite Women's Hockey League , a women's ice hockey league . In the tenth year of its existence, seven teams from Austria , Italy , Hungary and Slovenia took part between September 2013 and February 2014 . With the teams from Bolzano and Budapest , two founding members of the EWHL are again there. Besides them, the DEBL champions of the Neuberg Highlanders and a team from Maribor completed the field this season .

Before the season, last year's winner HK Pantera Minsk announced not to participate in the league. EWHL winner 2013/14 was the EV Bozen Eagles and thus for the first time a club from Italy.

mode

The seven participants played the places in three rounds in the league system , so that each team plays 18 games. Since two teams play against each other three times, the home right for each duel was drawn before the season. For a victory a team with a win by getting three points, sudden victory overtime mentioned extension or after the shootout two points. The losing team received no points after regular time, but one point if they lost after extra time or penalty shootout.

Remarkable

The last away game of the Vienna Sabers in Maribor was not played because the Viennese bus had to turn around due to heavy icing. The game was not verified as a criminal offense, but not rated because it was a matter of "force majeure".
