The 2005/06 season was the second season of the Elite Women's Hockey League , a women's ice hockey league . The second league champion was the new league HC Slovan Bratislava .

mode

Due to the expansion of the league by three clubs, two divisions with six and five participants each were formed for the main round. The participants of each division played the places in a double round in the league system , so that each team in the north-east division played ten and each team in the south-west division eight games. The team with the most points took first place after the main round. For a win - even after extra time - a team received two points. The losing team received no points after regular time. However, if you lose after extra time you get one point.

After the end of the main round, the four teams with the highest points in each division qualified for the playoffs. There, the playoff winners and thus champions of the league were played in three rounds in the best-of-two mode. Likewise, a placement round for places 5 to 8 was organized for the teams that lost in the playoff quarter-finals.

The teams that did not qualify for the playoffs played in a group of three for another double round for places 9 to 11.
