The T 2.1 was a tank locomotive of the Reichseisenbahnen in Alsace-Lorraine . It was initially called D7. It was built by the Stettiner Maschinenbau AG Vulcan and was named " Fasolt ".

With this locomotive an attempt was made to drive a low speed of 10 km / h with normal sized drive wheels. For this purpose the locomotive got a friction gear . The two cylinders worked on three coupled crankshafts, which were each arranged above one of the driving axles. Rollers arranged on the crankshafts were pressed with springs onto the wheels underneath, whereby the pressure force and thus also the friction between the rollers and the wheels was greater than the frictional load or the friction between the wheels and the rails. The gear ratio was around 3: 1. The rollers could be raised in the event that the locomotive had to be towed.

In 1902 the vehicle was converted into a conventional locomotive and classified as class T 2 .
