Elvis Kool Dumervil (* 19th January 1984 in Miami , Florida ) is a former American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Denver Broncos , the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers as an Outside Linebacker and a defensive end .

college

Dumervil, the son of Haitian émigrés, attended the University of Louisville and played for their team, the Cardinals, from 2002 to 2005 as Defensive End College Football . Especially in his last season he was extremely successful, was nominated for various selection teams and received numerous prizes, such as the Bronko Nagurski Trophy , the Ted Hendricks Award and the Bill Willis Award .

NFL

Denver Broncos

In the 2006 NFL Draft , he was elected in the 4th round as a total of 126th by the Denver Broncos . ´Because of his small stature for a defender, he was initially only intended as a substitute, but was given more and more playing time due to his good performance. In the 2009 season he was no longer only used as a defensive end, but also as a linebacker and finally honored by the NFL as the player with the most sacks in the regular season (17.0 in total). After he had to pass the whole season of 2010 due to an injury, he completed the next two seasons very successfully and was nominated for the Pro Bowl as in 2009 .

Baltimore Ravens

After failed negotiations with the Broncos, Dumervil signed a five-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens in March 2013 . He also plays at a consistently high level with his new team and has held the franchise record for the most sacks (17) in one season since 2014 .

San Francisco 49ers

In June 2017 Dumervil was signed by the San Francisco 49ers . He managed 6.5 sacks for his new team.

On August 30, 2018, Dumervil announced his retirement from active sports after 12 seasons in the NFL.
