Emanuel Ernst Albrecht von Czettritz (born September 29, 1729 in Silesia, † January 16, 1798 in Kadlau ( Neumark district )) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

His parents were the heir of Grünhof (Wartenberg district) Johann Gottfried von Czettritz (* January 17, 1704; † 1759) and his wife Helene Wilhelmine, born von Prittwitz from the House of Constadt.

Military career

On January 6, 1744, Czettritz became a private corporal in the "Dohna" fusilier regiment . During the Second Silesian War he fought in the battle of Hohenfriedberg , the siege of Cosel and the battle near Jägersdorf. On April 22, 1745 he was made an ensign .

After the war he became second lieutenant on September 3, 1751 . In the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles near Prague , Kolin , Leuthen and Zorndorf . He became a staff captain on October 11, 1759 and a captain and company commander on December 25, 1760 .

On June 4, 1773, Czettritz was promoted to major and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On June 8, 1782 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and became commander of the infantry regiment "von Anhalt" . On September 30, 1784 he became a colonel . At the review on August 21, 1788, the king awarded him the order Pour le Mérite . On January 6, 1790, Czettritz received his resignation as major general.

He died on January 16, 1798 in Kadlau (Neumark district).

On November 21, 1765, Czettritz married a von Viebing, the eldest daughter of Privy Councilor Viebing from Breslau . The couple had the following children:
