Emanuel Friedrich von Kötzschau

Emanuel Friedrich von Kötzschau (* October 7, 1666 ; † October 16, 1736 ) was a German court and administrative clerk in the Danish service.

Life

Kötzschau was one of eight sons of the Anhalt privy councilor Hans Bernhard von Kötzschau and, after studying and traveling abroad, initially became a chamberlain at the court of Prince Wilhelm von Anhalt-Harzgerode in Harzgerode and vice supervisor of the Mansfeld area . At the age of 30 he went to Denmark and in 1697 he was chamberlain to Queen Charlotte Amalie of Denmark, whose court marshal he became in 1700 when the queen widow established his own court . In 1702 after the death of his father he became supervisor of the Mansfeld and Prussian government councilor in Halle (Saale) . 1710 Oberhofmarschall of the Queen Mother Charlotte Amalie. Their son, King Friedrich IV. Appointed him in the same year as the secret conference councilor, district administrator and Oberlanddrost of the then Danish county of Delmenhorst , which was administered by the German Chancellery in Copenhagen . The Danish court offices expired with the death of Charlotte Amalie on March 17, 1714. Between 1711 and 1731 the county of Delmenhorst was pledged to the Electorate of Hanover . During this time, Kötzschau carried out the Danish lustration in the part of Swedish Western Pomerania that was under Danish occupation during this time. He resided as Oberlanddrost in Stralsund .

Since 1705 he had been married to the queen's lady-in-waiting , Anna Emilie von Dalwigk , without children . Anna Emilie had only barely survived an attempted murder in 1699 by lady-in-waiting Justine Cathrine Rosenkrantz , who rivaled her for Kötzschau's favor and was sentenced to death for the act, but was pardoned to life imprisonment at Hammershus . He married Catharine Christine von Plessen in his second marriage on October 11, 1725 (* July 22, 1690; † February 3, 1755), she was the widow of Karl Emil von Wartensleben . With Kötzschau, the family in Mansfeld died out in the male line .
