Emil Keyser
Emil Keyser (born June 2, 1846 in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden , † June 20, 1923 in Munich ) was a Swiss genre painter and son of the painter Heinrich Keyser.
Emil Keyser studied at the Karlsruhe Grand Ducal Baden Art School with Karl Friedrich Schick and Ludwig Des Coudres and in 1867 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Wilhelm von Diez .
After graduating, Keyser traveled to Europe and settled in Munich. He mainly painted landscapes with scenes from children's world. Emil Keyser was a member of the Munich artists' cooperative . Keyser was friends with the Stans sculptor Eduard Zimmermann . One of Kayser's sister was married to Martin von Feuerstein and the other sister to Ernst Zimmermann .
His pictures appeared in the Gazebo and Across Land and Sea . He exhibited his works in the Munich Glass Palace . Keyser's pictures are in the collections of the museums in Munich and Basel . Three pictures also came to the former private gallery of Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria .
