Emil Milew ( Bulgarian Емил Милев ; born May 2, 1968 in Sofia ) is an American - Bulgarian marksman .
successes
Emil Milew took part in the Olympic Games six times with the rapid-fire pistol. In 1992 he reached 20th place in Barcelona . Four years later he reached the final in Atlanta with 590 points, in which he scored another 102.1 points and with a total of 692.1 points won the silver medal behind Ralf Schumann and in front of Wladimir Wochmjanin . He also reached the final at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . With 684.5 points, Milew was only 0.1 points behind third-placed Iulian Raicea and thus missed another medal win. In 2004 he finished ninth in Athens . After the Games he emigrated to the United States . In 2009 he received the US citizenship and from then on also competed internationally for the states.
In 1994 Milew was runner-up in the singles world championship in Milan , and in 2010 he won bronze with the US team in Munich . At the Pan American Games he won the gold medal in Guadalajara in 2011 .
Milew is married and has two children. He works as a physical education teacher in Tampa .
