Wladimir Wochmjanin ( Kazakh Владимир Вохмянин ; born January 27, 1962 in Temirtau , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh sports shooter .

successes

Vladimir Wochmjanin, who was active at Dinamo Almaty , took part in four Olympic Games with the rapid-fire pistol. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , starting for the Soviet Union, he finished 21st with 587 points. In 1992 he was part of the United Team in Barcelona and moved into the semi-finals as fourth in the preliminary round with 590 points. In this he scored the best result of 196 points, after which he also reached the final. With a further 96 points, he got 882 total points, so that he finished the competition behind Ralf Schumann and Afanasijs Kuzmins in third place and won the bronze medal. Four years later , Wochmjanin, who was now playing for Kazakhstan, finished fourth in the preliminary round in Atlanta with 589 points. Since no semi-finals were held this time, he moved straight to the final, where he achieved the best final result with 102.5 points. This pushed him up to third place, behind Ralf Schumann and Emil Milew he won another bronze medal. The 2000 Games in Sydney he finished early in 12th place, with 580 points he missed the final qualification by four points.

Wladimir Wochmjanin was world champion in the team competition with the rapid-fire pistol in Caracas in 1982 and in Suhl in 1986 . On the continental level, he won the individual Asian championship with the rapid fire pistol in Jakarta in 1995 , and he also took second place with the large-bore pistol. At the Asian Games in Hiroshima in 1994 he won the gold medal in singles with the rapid-fire pistol, while he won the silver medal in the team competition. He also secured silver in the team competition with the standard pistol. In 1998 in Bangkok further medals followed in individual with bronze in the large-caliber pistol competition and silver with the rapid-fire pistol. With the latter he secured the bronze medal in the team competition and also won silver with the team in the standard pistol discipline. Wochmjanin received his eighth and last medal at the Asian Games in 2006 in Doha , when he finished third with the rapid-fire pistol team and won the bronze medal.

He is married and has two children.
