Emil Rahm-Sidler (born September 24, 1930 in Hallau ; † November 6, 2015 ; resident in Hallau) was a Swiss entrepreneur and journalist .

Life

Emil Rahm grew up in a wine growing family in Hallau that belonged to a Chrischona parish , but was then a member of the Reformed regional church in Hallau. Together with his father Jakob Rahm and brother Robert, he set up the Rimuss- und Weinkellerei Rahm AG, which has been producing grape juice as well as wine since 1945. He trained as a merchant and wine specialist. In 1959 he took over the management of the Hallau-Wilchingen vineyard cooperative.

After the death of their father, the brothers took over the company in 1969. It belonged to the Rimuss Foundation, which held the majority of shares and votes, and of which Emil Rahm was a board member until 2014. The Rimuss Foundation supports Christian and other non-profit organizations. Rahm was widowed and had three children.

Journalism

For the 25th and 50th anniversary of the Rahm winery in Hallau, Emil Rahm wrote anniversary publications, which the winery self-published in 1970 rsp. Were published in 1995.

Rahm wrote and distributed letters to the editor and publications with political and ideological content. From 1967 to 1998 he self-published the quarterly Memopress , a four-page A4 newspaper, in small editions and in the 1980s and 1990s z. Magazine sent in large editions of 20,000–40,000 copies. The 1976 monthly also appeared in Selbstverlag cream publication entitled background , the 1977 quarterly published issues of Durchblick the confederation Organic Thinking Europeans (CODE) and the to November 1995 Publisher diagnoses published monthly magazine Code were in the Memopress risen. In secondary literature, Rahm is valued as someone who postulates a "Jewish-Masonic-Bolshevik-Jesuit world conspiracy". Rahm rejected such classifications of his worldview to the effect that it was more of a “satanic world conspiracy”.

As can be seen in the chronology of the Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism GRA, in 1997 the Swiss customs administration secured an import of books intended for Rahm, among others by Johannes Rothkranz . Because of the distribution of around 50 copies of the book Secret Societies by Jan Udo Holey , Rahm was fined 5,000 francs by the investigating magistrate in Schaffhausen in 1997 for racial discrimination.

Political activity

Rahm belonged to the Swiss People's Party (SVP). He was a prominent opponent of the racism penal norm . Rahm was one of the founders of the “Campaign for freedom of expression - against UN paternalism” AfM, which collected 47,000 signatures for a referendum against the introduction of the racism penal norm. In the referendum of September 25, 1994, the law was finally approved with 54.6 percent of the vote. After the referendum, Rahm submitted several petitions on the new law.

With his “Aktion Volk und Parlament”, Rahm campaigned for the referendum against Army XXI .
