Emile Obrist

Emile Obrist (born June 27, 1870 in Vevey ; † June 30, 1954 in Corsier-sur-Vevey , resident in Aarwangen and Vevey) was a Swiss entrepreneur and politician .

biography

He completed the Progymnasium in Vevey and a commercial apprenticeship in Schaffhausen . Obrist later worked in his father's wine trading company founded in Vevey in 1854 . In 1896 he acquired the Cure d'Attalens winery and later the Clos du Rocher in Yvorne . Obrist took an active part in the preparation of the Fête des Vignerons of 1905.

From 1912 to 1925, Obrist was a free-spirited Grand Councilor from Vaud, like his father Emmanuel Obrist.

In 1961 Schenk SA took over the Obrist company.
