Emile Anthony Sinclair (born December 29, 1987 in Leeds ) is an English football player who has been under contract with Peterborough United since 2011 . He is currently playing on loan at the third division club Doncaster Rovers .

Career

First experience in professional football at Nottingham Forest

The preferred attacker Sinclair began his active career at Bradford City , at whose club he was active in the youth teams. After he did not get a contract extension at Bradford, the offensive player moved to the youth academy at Nottingham Forest . For the 2007/08 season he moved up to the professional squad of the Reds and completed his first professional appearance for Forest on August 14, 2007 in the away game against Chester City in the League Cup . He ran when the score was 0-0 in the 103rd minute for Grant Holt on the field. The team from Nottingham eventually prevailed 4-2 on penalties and made it into the second round of the competition. As a result, Sinclair came due to the competition in the attack with Grant Holt, Junior Agogo , Scott Dobie and Nathan Tyson at Nottingham Forest only to several short missions.

On September 22, 2007, in his second league appearance in Football League One , he scored the 4-0 final for Nottingham Forest two minutes after his substitution in the home game against Gillingham FC . At the beginning of October 2007 he reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest on a contract extension that is valid for a limited period of two years. Until mid-November he played two more league games for Nottingham Forest, in which he ran up a few minutes before the end of the game for the seeded striker Junior Agogo.

Various loan shops

This was followed by a loan deal with fourth division club Brentford , who signed Sinclair for a month on loan. Two days later, the attacker played his first league game for Brentford in Football League Two and was in the starting line-up of the red and white army . In the 7-0 away defeat at Peterborough United , he formed together with Lee Thorpe the attacking duo of the Bees . However, he spent most of the following games on the bench and again acted as a substitute. At Brentford he did not succeed in imposing himself and recommending himself for a permanent commitment.

After his return to Nottingham, the attacker received again as a supplementary player some appearances in the league operation of Football League One. By the end of the 2007/08 season he completed eight league games for Forest, but could not be recognized as a goalscorer. As runners-up behind Swansea City , the Reds managed to return to the second division, the Football League Championship . Sinclair started the 2008/09 season with a home game for Nottingham Forest against Reading FC . In the goalless draw he ran in the 83rd minute as a substitute for midfielder Lewis McGugan on the field. Until mid-October he was in two other competitive games for the Reds . This was followed by a one-month loan of the striker to the fifth division club Mansfield Town .

In the Stags playing in the Conference National he was in his first league game in non-league football in the starting line-up and scored the opening goal for Mansfield Town in the 1: 2 home defeat against Wrexham FC . After Sinclair was able to record his second goal win on November 15, 2008, in his third appearance in the Conference National, in the home game against Salisbury City , the club extended his loan contract a day later for another month. After his return to Nottingham in December 2008, the offensive player sat again on the bench and played no more competitive games for Forest.

In order to collect match practice, the club loaned him on January 15, 2009 for a month on loan to the fourth division club Macclesfield Town . At the Silkmen he managed to fight for a regular place in the attack under head coach Keith Alexander alongside Gareth Evans . On his second appearance for Macclesfield, he scored his first goal in the home game against Brentford FC. After the loan period expired, the striker returned to Nottingham again. After a use in the league operation of the Football League Championship, when he came on for Joe Garner , Macclesfield Town took him a few days later again as a loan player under contract. In the following eleven games for Macclesfield, however, Sinclair failed to hit.

Final signature at Macclesfield Town

In May 2009, he was not offered a new contract with Nottingham Forest and was released from the club. In the summer of 2009 he signed a permanent contract with Macclesfield Town and thus left Nottingham for good. On August 8, 2009, he played in the away game at Northampton Town, his first competitive game of the 2009/10 season and stood together with the Algerian Hamza Bencherif, who had previously also been under contract with Nottingham Forest . In the following six encounters, Sinclair was not considered in the starting eleven and acted as a substitute.

After the attacker scored his first goal of the season against Burton Albion on September 29 , he succeeded in securing a regular place. However, Sinclair could not perform consistently, so he did not hit the opposing goal in the following eleven matches. On December 12, the striker scored two goals in a professional league for the first time in his career in a 3-1 home win against Hereford United . In April 2010 he extended his contract with the Silkmen by two years until the end of June 2012. By the end of the season, Sinclair had played a total of 42 league games in Football League Two and was able to record seven goals. He also played in the Football League Trophy and in the FA Cup . In the two competitions, the team was eliminated early, in league operations succeeded in relegation with 19th place.

Peterborough United

On August 31, 2011 Sinclair moved to second division promoted Peterborough United and signed a three-year contract. In the Football League Championship 2011/12 he scored ten league goals for his new club. During the 2012/13 season he signed for Barnsley FC for two months . On January 5, 2013, there was another change on loan to third division Doncaster Rovers .
