Emmanuelle - In the vicious circle of passion is a French agent film from 1980. It contains porn scenes in its uncut hardcore version . In its abridged softcore version, it was broadcast numerous times on German television.
The film has been released under numerous alternative titles. The international version appeared as Emanuele 3 and Emmanuele 3 , other titles are: An Erotic Journal of a Lady from Thailand and Carnal Times in Thailand ; in France: Carnet intime or Carnet intime d'une Thailandaise (uncut); in Italy: porn bordella or super porn bordella .
The German title is often Emmanuelle - In the vicious circle of passion . However, this German title was also used for the 1976 Joe D'Amato film Black Emanuelle Part 2 with Laura Gemser , with whom he also shares the alternative title Emmanuelle in Bangkok . The 1972 by Max Pecas film shot in the garden of lust - Pourquoi? with Sandra Julien also bears this title in the spelling Emanuela .

Disguised as a fashion photographer, Agent Paul Vernon travels to Bangkok in search of two disappeared colleagues . With two attractive blondes at his side, he follows the footsteps of Bangkok's nightlife. While Claudine and Yvonne are enjoying themselves privately, Paul meets the attractive Thai girl Clito, whose charms he succumbs to. Since she is harassed by Thai gangsters, Paul tries to help her and deepen their relationship. This fails, Paul then returns to Paris, where he has a moment's amusement, but he can't get the Siamese out of his head. He returns to help her, but she refuses for his own protection.

The film was included in the list of media harmful to minors by the federal inspection agency with an indexing decision of August 6, 1990. After the period of 25 years had expired, the list was deleted with a decision of July 21, 2015 and an announcement in the Federal Gazette of July 31, 2015.
