Enid Blyton is a British television film directed by James Hawes that premiered in the fall of 2009 on the British broadcaster BBC Four . The film is about the life of the famous children's author Enid Blyton . Actress Helena Bonham Carter plays the title role.

The film is about the ambitious, committed, but initially unknown writer, from the emergence of her imagination, through the misfortunes of her childhood, two world wars and a first marriage that ended in divorce, right through to achieving great fame. The story explores how the reassuringly clear words Blyton created in her stories clashed with the complications of her own life.

Filming took place in London and Surrey in early 2009 . The film is part of a series of different biographies about extraordinary women of the 20th century, produced by BBC Four , in which besides Enid Blyton other icons such as Gracie Fields , Margot Fonteyn and Winnie Mandela appear.
