The Eastern developing region ( Nepali पुर्वाञ्चल विकास क्षेत्र Purbānchal Bikās Kshetra ) was the easternmost of five developing regions in Nepal .
It had an area of 28,456 km² and consisted of the following administrative zones:
At the 2011 census, the region had 5,811,555 inhabitants. The administrative seat was Dhankuta .
