The Eparchy Chanda ( Latin Eparchia Chandaensis ) is an eparchy of the Syro-Malabar Church with its seat in Chanda , India, united with the Roman Catholic Church . It includes the districts of Wardha , Chandrapur and Gadchiroli in the Indian state of Maharashtra .

history

Pope Paul VI founded the Apostolic Exarchate Chanda on July 29, 1968 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Amravati and the Archdiocese of Nagpur , to which it was subordinated as a suffragan diocese.

With the Apostolic Constitution Nostra ipsorum it was elevated to an eparchy on February 26, 1977. It lost part of the territory on June 23, 1999 to the Adilabad diocese .
