history
The Faridabad Eparchy was founded on March 6, 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI. built. The first bishop was Kuriakose Bharanikulangara with the personal title of archbishop. The eparchy extends in the greater Delhi area over several jurisdictions of the Latin rite and includes the territory of the capital Delhi , the states of Haryana , Punjab and Himachal Pradesh , the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as well as the districts of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad of the state of Uttar Pradesh . It has an area of around 950,000 km², on which about 120,000 Syro-Malabar Catholics live.
