history

Around 1200 a Romanesque chapel or church was built in Erdmannshain, probably as a fortification or castle warden. In 1272 the village is documented as a knight seat of a certain Otto de Ertmarishain . Dated 1349 in the loan book of the landgrave and margrave you can find that "Rudolfus et Guntherus de Bunow" (Rudolf and Günter von Bünau) are masters of Erdmannshain, among other things, in 1413 Erdmannshain was transferred to you as a fief. In 1497 Ertmarshain is mentioned in the loan book of the Antoniterkloster Eicha , 1506 it is listed in the loan book of those "von Wolframsdorf" in Albrechtshain. In 1536 the village came into the possession of the electoral Saxon councilor and chamberlain Hans von Ponikau, who was also lord of the castle of Pomßen.
In 1727 the church was rebuilt, with western and southern galleries and a pulpit being built in. In 1815
August Schumann mentions Erdmannshain in the State, Post and Newspaper Lexicon of Saxony concerning a. a .:

“[…] Located on the Barda . It has a branch church from Albrechtshain, 33 houses and 130 residents. They have 7  hooves , 6 horses, 168 cows, 200 sheep, […]. The village belongs in writing. to Rittergute Pomsen . "

Albert Schiffner added in 1828 a. a .:

"[...] has around 200 residents, including a mill, [...]. It has neither a special schoolmaster nor parish villages. "

In 1816 a school building was built, where the children previously went to school is not verifiable. On August 3, 1839, a windmill was put into operation by the owner from Dürrweitzschen - this was what he told the Dietzschen court in Pomßen on that day. In 1884 structural repairs were made to the church. The tower received a new hood, flag and tower ball were removed and renewed.

In 1939 a tower clock was procured for the church. On October 20, 1943 there was a heavy air raid on the place. 4 houses were destroyed and 4 people were killed. On July 1, 1950, Erdmannshain was incorporated into Naunhof. In the same year the school was closed and from then on the children were taught in Naunhof. In 1960 all farmers were forced to merge to form an agricultural production cooperative . In 1968 a central drinking water pipe was laid in the village.

In 1989, reconstruction work began on the church. Among other things, the tower beams were renewed and the tower covered with new copper. On June 23, 1991 it was given a new crown with a golden tower ball and weather vane.
