Eren Şen (born September 28, 1984 in Hamburg ) is a German-Turkish football player .

Career

society

Şen grew up in Hamburg-Eißendorf and played for FSV Harburg from 1994 to 1998 . After a season at FC St. Pauli , he moved to Hamburger SV in 1999 , where he played for their youth teams until 2003. From 2003 he was part of the professional squad and on September 13, 2003 he played his first and only Bundesliga game when he was substituted on for the game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

In 2005 he moved to the reigning Swiss runner-up FC Thun . With this club he played a successful season in the Axpo Super League and in the Champions League . Şen was involved in the club's biggest success to date in the Champions League. Here he and his team played against teams such as internationally known clubs such as Ajax Amsterdam , Sparta Prague and Arsenal FC . After the group stage ended third in the table, the team continued to play in the UEFA Cup . Here FC Thun met in the first round of the knockout phase, the sixteenth finals of the tournament, of all things, on Şen's home club, Hamburger SV . The club finally failed against HSV. Şen played eleven competitive games for FC Thun this season and scored three goals.

After a year, Şen continued his career in Turkey and only played in the Süper Lig for Konyaspor . Here he was able to play under a local player license due to his Turkish origins and thus did not block any additional foreigner place. He played for Konyaspor for the next three seasons. In his first season with the Central Anatolians, he completed 18 competitive games and scored four goals. the two following seasons he spelled a reservist existence and came in each season only sporadic substitutions. After the club missed relegation in the summer of 2009, Şen moved to the southeast Turkish first division club Diyarbakirspor for the 2009/10 season . At this club, which had a very difficult season this season, was about to be suspended before the league and missed relegation at the end of the season, Şen came to four competitive appearances. After relegation, Şen left the club but was officially under contract until January 2010. This was only dissolved in January 2010.

In September 2010, Şen returned to Germany with his move to 1. FC Magdeburg . However, the contract was terminated on December 15, 2010 by mutual agreement and Şen played in the second half for Mersin İdman Yurdu . With this club he ended the 2010/11 season with the Turkish second division championship and thus achieved promotion to the Süper Lig.

After winning the Turkish second division championship, Şen moved to the Iranian club Paykan Tehran in 2011 and played here until January 2013. He then moved to the Turkish fourth division club İstanbulspor in the second half of the 2012/13 season . The contract was terminated in January 2015 by mutual agreement so that Şen can have his current knee injury treated in Germany. He was then in rehabilitation clinics in Hamburg and Munich. To this day, he has not played a game (as of December 29, 2017).

National team

Şen completed three games for the German U-19 national team in 2002 and 2003 and scored one goal. Şen played a total of 30 junior national team games and scored 5 goals.
