Ergene is a district of the Turkish province of Tekirdağ and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi (large city municipality) Tekirdağ . After the provincial capital was declared Büyükşehir belediyesi in 2014, a part of the former Çorlu district was separated in the north and declared the new Ergene district.

The district is located in the northeast of the province. It borders in the south on Çorlu, in the west on Muratlı , in the north-west on the province of Kırklareli and in the north-east on Saray , Kapaklı and Çerkezköy . The E-80 highway runs through the district from northwest to southeast , coming from the Bulgarian border via Edirne and continuing via Istanbul through Turkey to the Iranian border in the east. At the same time, the D-100 runs further south through the district. The Ergene Nehri flows from northeast to southwest through the district, which flows into the Meriç Nehri further west on the border with Greece . The district is largely flat with no significant elevations.

The district is named after the Ergene River.
