Erhard Andreas Frommann
Erhard Andreas Frommann (born November 8, 1722 in Wiesenfeld near Coburg ; † October 1, 1774 in Kloster Berge ) was a German Protestant clergyman and educator.
Life
Erhard Andreas Frommann was the son of the preacher Samuel Hartmann Frommann (1685–1759) and his wife Dorothea Rosina. His brothers were:
- Johann Philipp Frommann (1720–1793), pastor in Meeder in the Principality of Coburg ;
- Wilhelm Albrecht Frommann (1727–1808), pastor in Lauter.
Erhard Andreas Frommann attended the Casimirianum grammar school in Coburg from 1735 ; his teachers there included Johann Konrad Schwarz , Bonifacius Heinrich Ehrenberger (1681–1759), Johann Gerhard Meuschen , Johann Ulrich Tresenreuter and Johann Daniel Gihnlein
He then studied theology and oriental languages from 1741 at the University of Altdorf and heard lectures from Johann Balthasar Bernhold , Beyer, Johann Ulrich Tresenreuter, Georg Friedrich Deinlein , Georg Christoph Schwarz , Johann Andreas Michael Nagel and Johann Albrecht Spieß (1704–1766). After obtaining his master's degree , he completed his habilitation in 1745 and gave lectures on philosophy and philology as a private lecturer .
In 1748 he was given a position as pastor in Walbur and six years later, in 1754, a pastor's position in Garnstadt . 1756 he was appointed as a teacher of Greek and Oriental languages at the high school Casimirianum in Coburg, whose Pädagogiarch it in 1759 and, as a successor to Johann Andreas Buttstedt that the (1701-1765) University of Erlangen had been called, Rector 1761. 1762 doctorate he attended the University of Altdorf to Dr. theol. and in 1763 he was appointed consistorial councilor.
1771 he received his appointment as abbot of the pin Klosterbergegarten at Magdeburg ; at the same time he was rector of the associated educational institution and general superintendent of the Duchy of Magdeburg and remained in these offices until his death. After his death, Friedrich Gabriel Resewitz was his successor.
Erhard Andreas Frommann was with Rosina Maria, geb. Brumhardt, married.
