Erich Kästner Prize (Dresden)

The Erich Kästner Prize is awarded annually by Presseclub Dresden e. V. awarded to a personality who has rendered outstanding services to tolerance , humanity and international understanding. The award winners should have set standards through their work in politics, business, culture or another area of ​​public life and their commitment should be related to the city of Dresden . The award consists of a certificate, an honorary award and an amount of money. The Erich Kästner Prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and will be presented in a ceremony at Albrechtsberg Castle .

It is named after the German writer Erich Kästner , who spent the first twenty years of his life in Dresden.
