Erich Czech

Erich Czech (born January 30, 1890 in Warnsdorf ; † June 4, 1966 in Munich ) was an Austrian journalist .

Life

After attending school in Litomerice and Matura in Arnau studied Czech in Prague , Graz and Vienna Law . In Prague he was a member of the Corps Austria . After completing his studies, he worked as a journalist in Olomouc , Mährisch-Ostrau and Vienna until he moved to Germany in 1929. He signed his publications in Germany with a German suffix as Erich Czech-Jochberg . In 1930 he published a widely acclaimed biography of Adolf Hitler . As a result, he was courted by the National Socialists and wrote a large number of other books, mostly in support of National Socialism. In 1932 he became a member of the NSDAP . In 1935, Czech's rise came to an end. It all started with the magazine of the Reichsstelle for the Promotion of German Literature , Bucherkunde . The literary achievements of Czech as “economic literacy” were presented in two booklets in multi-page articles. The books Adolf Hitler and his staff and From January 30th to March 21st were banned by the National Socialists because they were included in the list of harmful and undesirable literature . In 1938 the work So Lives Russia - A Journey to Soviet Russia followed . In the following years he published under the pseudonym Ernst Clam . After the Second World War , Czech managed to publish again under the pseudonym Erich Galdiner .

Many of Czech's writings were placed on the list of literature to be segregated in the Soviet occupation zone .
